      Shawn Bradley Endicott, age 28 of Inez, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Born February 28, 1987 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Ronnie Lowery of Columbus, Ohio and the late Mary Ruth Endicott Lowery. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by great grandparents, Fitzhugh and Bertha Potter and Sam and Ruth Endicott; and grandfather, Lawrence Edward Endicott. He is survived by his father, one daughter, Kaylee Hinkle of Inez; two brothers, Casey Lowery and Dustin Lowery both of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Brandi Endicott of Inez; grandmother, Brenda Endicott of Inez; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

    Funeral services will be 1pm Saturday, May 2, 2015 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Endicott Cemetery at Calf Creek. Emmanuel Ferguson will officiate. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 6-9pm Friday and until the time of service on Saturday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.

             Howard Wendell Wallen, 82, died Sunday April 26, 2015 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Mitchell and Leona Preston Wallen of Williamsport, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jewell Ward Wallen, two sons, Howard Jr. (Debbie) and Michael (Teresa) and one daughter Lisa Senters (Hubert). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Joseph Wallen , Dustin Wallen, Olivia Maloney(Shawn), McKenzie Senters, Morgan Senters, and Mason Senters. Also surviving are 2 great grandchildren Abby and Hunter Wallen. He is also survived by one sister Lois Webb (David).

 

He graduated from Meade Memorial High School in 1951. He graduated from Pikeville Junior College in 1953 and then received several degrees from Morehead State University. He was employed by the Johnson County School System for 38 years in many capacities. He was a renowned basketball coach who shaped the lives of many young men. His coaching record was 385 wins and 178 losses and in 1996 was inducted as a member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame. He was a member of Toms Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

 

Visitation will be held at Phelps & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 3:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Johnson County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Arrangements are by the Phelsp & Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.

      Kathy Pinson, age 51 of Beauty, KY passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at her home. Born December 20, 1963 in Pike County Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jessie H. Maynard and Frances Mollett Maynard. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death six brothers, Greg, Luke, Charles, Roger, Paul, and Timothy Maynard. She is survived by two sons, Mikeal Paul Pinson of Tomahawk and John Stephen Pinson of Louisa; one brother, Larry Maynard of Inez; two sisters, Debbie Brown of Inez and Josie Jude of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Julia, Carlee, Chase, London, and Austyn; her companion, Paul Mills; and life long friend, Mitchell Moore.

      Funeral services will be 1pm Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Maynard Family Cemetery at Beauty. Friends may visit the funeral home from 5-9pm Monday, and from 9am to 9pm Tuesday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.

  Julius Endicott Jr., age 76, of Inez, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Born May 22,1938 in Martin County, he was the son of the late Julius Endicott Sr. and Della Fannin .In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Lou Parsons Endicott; Step Father William Daniels , two brothers; Dale and Dave Daniels and one sister; Patsy Edganton. He is survived by one daughter, Judith Ann (Ronnie) Meade of Inez Ky., and one son, Julius Lee (Debbie) Endicott of Warfield, Ky., four Grandchildren; Rebecca Sue (Jason) Carter, Mary Louann (Rossie) Crum, Jessica Lea (Travis) Lawson and Roy Matthew (Kayla) Meade. Eight Great Grandchildren Aaron,Jacob and Justin Carter, Addyson, Julius Brock Crum and Quinn, Logan, and Dakota Lawson.

     Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday, April 20, 2015 in the chapel of Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the James Cemetery in Inez. Tim Preece will officate. Friends may visit the funeral home from 6pm to 9pm Sunday and until time of services on Monday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home ,Inez.

       Danny Wayne Warrix, age 50 of East Point, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at his home. Born January 22, 1965 in Johnson County, he was the son of Lula B. (Music) Warrix of East Point and the late Theodore Warrix. In addition to his mother he is survived by one son, Maxwell Warrix of East Point; one brother, Kenny Warrix of East Point; and one grand child, Braxton Warrix also survives.

      Funeral services will be 1pm Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Family Cemetery at East Point.      Cline Dale Moore, age 80 of Yazoo, Mississippi formerly of Martin County, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the VA Nursing Home is Jackson, Mississippi. Born February 26, 1935 in Martin County, he was the son of the late Landon and Opal Farley Moore. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, James Marcum; and one sister, Phyllis Moore. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine (Newsome) Moore; one son, Dennis and his wife Cheryl Moore of Peachtree City, Georgia; one sister, Clarice Winkler of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Homer Marcum of Kingsport, TN; and four grandchildren, Tyler Moore, Chase Moore, Nathan Baca and Matthew Baca.

     He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and was an avid fisherman.

     Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Newsome Family Cemetery at Lovely. Matt Clark will officiate.     Bethany Ann Banks Reeseman, age 42 of Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her residence. Born December 7, 1972 in Kokomo, Indiana to Lloyd Alvis Banks of Van Lear, Kentucky and Clara Lucille Damewood Banks of Kokomo, Indiana. In addition to her parents she is survived by one son, Samuel Zane Reeseman of Van Lear; one daughter, Sydney Abigail Reeseman of Van Lear; two brothers, Darrell Banks of Van Lear, Randy Banks of Thelma; one sister, Darlene Ramey of Van Lear.

     Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.      Curtis Allen Whitt, three month old son of Curtis Whitt and Violet Reed of Inez went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 2, 2015 at his home. In addition to his loving parents, Curtis Allen is survived by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Eunice Reed of Lawrence County; his paternal grandparents, Robbie (Olga) Whitt of Inez and Teresa (Johnny) Curnutte of Lawrence County. He is preceded in death his uncle, James Allen Preece and great grand parents, Margaret Reed, Gracie Stacy, Delma Whitt, and C.H. “Took” Preece. Curtis was blessed to have a host of aunts, uncles, and many family and friends that loved him dearly and one special friend, Caleb Collins.

 

     Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the New Friendship United Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Reed Family Cemetery at Louisa. John Goble will officiate. Friends may visit the church after 5pm Tuesday, and all day Wednesday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.

    Linda Lou Bowens, age 60, of Tomahawk, Ky., passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at her residence. Born September 5,1954 in Columbus, Oh., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Vivian Houston.

    She is survived by her husband Ronnie Dean Bowens of Tomahawk, Ky., one son; Ronnie Dean Bowens Jr. of Debord, Ky., three Daughters; Roxann Tomblin of Debord, Ky., Connie Luster of Johnson County and Sherry Fletcher of of Inez, Ky., three brothers; Freddy, Victor, and Jeff Houston all of Columbus, Oh., three sisters; Sherry Scott of Zanesville, Oh., Fontell Bowens of Louisa, Ky., and Marsha Pelphrey of, Akron, Oh., nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

    Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 4, 2015 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bowens Family Cemetery at Tomahawk ,Ky. Luther Fletcher will be officiating. Friends may call from 5 until 9 pm Thursday and from 1 until 9 pm Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.
