Carolyn S. Hall, age 80 of Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Saturday June 16, 2018 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville. Born December 25, 1937 in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence B. Price and Edith Horn Price. In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her first husband, Alexander Spencer.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Hall; one son, Andre Spencer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one brother, Phillip Price of Paintsville; one sister, Judy Music of Auxier; and two grandchildren, Trevor and Tyler Spencer. Carolyn was a retired educator with the Johnson County School System.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday at the Little Paint First Church of God. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens at Prestonsburg. Pastor Jeff White will officaite. Friends may visit the church from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Monday and after 9:00am Tuesday prior to the service. Arrangaments are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Sharon K. (Kestner) Hall, age 65 of East Point, passed away Friday June 15, 2018 at Cabell Huntington. Born July 6, 1952 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Alvis Kestner and Ruth Ray Kestner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Charles Kestner; and one sister, Debbie Evans.
She is survived by her husband, James Martin Hall; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday June 16, 2018 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Short Cemetery at Meally, Kentucky. Arthur Todd Scarberry will officiate. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5pm to 9pm Friday and until the time of service Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Elliott Leon “Uncle Joe” Culwell, age 66 of Paintsville, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Pikeville Medical Center. Born April 21, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Elliott and Mary Lou McKenzie Culwell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, James Larry Culwell and Randall J. Culwell; and one sister, Carolyn Castle.
He is survived by two brothers, Frankie Dencil Culwell of Salyersville, Kentucky and Ricky Culwell of Tutor Key, Kentucky; four sisters: Nancy Brown of Urbana, Ohio, Connie Fitch of Louisa, Kentucky, Rita Ann Vanhoose of Urbana, Ohio and Alice June Vanhoose of Van Lear, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be 11am Sunday June 17, 2018 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Castle Cemetery at Nippa, Kentucky. Tommy Vanhoose will officaite. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 6pm to 9pm Friday and from 4pm to 9pm on Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Rena Vaughan White, age 67 of Hager Hill, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg. Born March 16, 1951 in Staffordsville to the late Herbert Mahan and Lucille Maynard Mahan. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sons: Jamie Fairchild and David Vaughan Fairchild; one brother: Roger Mahan; two sisters: Jane Fairchild and Carol Fairchild.
She is survived by her husband, Zigler Bill White of Hager Hill; one son: Bobby (Jessica) Fairchild of Paintsville; three daughters: Nickie (Tony) Endicott of West Van Lear, Debbie (Earl) Mollett of Tutor Key, Janet (Jerry) Hensley of Boonscamp; four brothers: Gary Mahan, Ferrell Mahan, Mitchell Mahan, all of Paintsville, and Timothy Mahan of Floyd County; four sisters: Connie Mahan, Olive Reynolds, both of Paintsville, Odra Stambaugh of Sitka, and Judy Staniford of River. Nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Dixon Cemetery at Staffordsville. Harry Neal Frisby will officiate. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-9pm, Monday 10am-9pm, and after 10am Tuesday. Funeral arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
