     Betty Lee Blanton, age 91 of Flat Gap, Kentucky passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Sunbury, Ohio. Born April 19, 1927 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Iva and Mary McKenzie Seagraves. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, George Blanton, Jr; one son, Harold Blanton; and two brothers and one sister.

     She is survived by one grand daughter, Jan Wright of Sunbury; one great grand child, Tristan Wright also of Sunbury, Ohio; and two sisters, Lissie Volkmar of Alabama and Doris Franklin of Sunbury, Ohio.

     Funeral services will be 10:00a.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Blanton Family Cemetery at Volga. Tony Volkmar will officiate. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5pm to 9pm Saturday and prior to the service on Sunday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

     Glenn L. Stafford, age 75 of Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Wednesday May 23, 2018 at his residence. Born August 11, 1942 in Paintsville, Kentucky he was the son of the late Curt Stafford and Virginia Wells Stafford. In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Waller Stafford.

     He is survived by two sisters, Diana Kay Morris of Lexington, Kentucky and Betty Jo Henry of Salyersville, Kentucky; and two nieces and two nephews also survive.

     Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, May 27, 2018 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. Steve Rose will officiate. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5pm to 9pm Saturday and anytime prior to the service on Sunday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

     William R. Mollette, age 98 of Boonscamp, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday May 1, 2018 at the Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pikeville.  Born June 3, 1919 in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Elias and Martha Golden Mollette.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Edith (Wells) Mollette; two sisters and two brothers. 

     William is survived by one son, Roger Mollette of Boonscamp, Kentucky; two daughters, Karen M. Kouns and her husband Richard of Ashland, Kentucky and Rita Vest and her husband Asa of West Liberty, Kentucky; four grandchildren and three great grandchilden also survive.

     Funeral services will be 12:00pm Thursday May 3, 2018 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Mollette Family Cemetery at Boonscamp.  Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 10:30am until 12:00pm Thursday prior to the service.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Lowell Thomas “Tommy” Blanton, age 85 of Flat Gap, Kentucky passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his residence. Born March 1, 1933 in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Haskell Blanton and Luda Jones Blanton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers: Robert Paul Blanton, William S. Blanton and Kendrick B. Blanton.

     Tommy is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Wheeler) Blanton; three sons: Allen K. Blanton and his wife Brenda of Flat Gap, Jeffery Doyle Blanton of Flat Gap and Robert Lee Blanton and his wife, Rhonda of Flat Gap; one brother, Jack R. Blanton of Georgetown, Kentucky; two sisters, Roberta Sue Blanton and Linda Lou Houp both of Georgetown, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Justin M. Blanton of Hager Hill, Jacob A. Blanton of Morehead, Morgan L. Shields of Somerset and Robert C. Blanton of Georgetown; and one great grandchild, Elijah L. Blanton also survives.

     Funeral services will be 11:00am Sunday May 6, 2018 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blanton Family Cemetery at Flat Gap. Danny Ward and John Fred Ramey will officiate. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 9:00pm Saturday and prior to the service on Sunday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Doris Georgegena (Rohr) Butcher, age 48 of Boonscamp, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at her residence. Born January 23, 1970 in Johnson County, Kentucky to Juanita Hannah Lilly of East Point and the late George Kimbler. In addition to her father, Doris is preceded in death by one brother, Walter Rohr.

     In addition to her mother, Doris is survived by her husband, Fred Dwane Butcher; two sons: Adam Rohr and Samuel Rohr, both of Boonscamp; one daughter: Juanita Rohr of Wittensville; six brothers: Ronald Rohr of Inez, Richard Rohr of Indiana, Johnny Rohr of Prestonsburg, Terry Rohr of Indiana, Tim Rohr of Indiana, and Jason Rohr of East Point; one sister: Diana Anders of Texas. Three grandchildren also survive.

     Friends may visit at Phelps & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 12:00pm-5:00pm with services to be held at 5:00pm. Scotty Mollett will officiate. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

     Rhonda Gail McKenzie, age 54 of Lexington, Kentucky formerly of Johnson County, passed away Wednesday May 16, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born August 24, 1963 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene McKenzie and Helen Lorraine Boyd McKenzie.

     Rhonda is survived by two daughters, Shasta Lintner of Lexington and Mickia Blanton of Louisa; one son, Mitchell Bowen of Tifton, Georgia; one sister, Darlene McKenzie Meade of Hager Hill; and ten beloved grandchildren also survive.

     Funeral services will be 2:00p.m. Saturday May 19, 2018 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. Tommy Meade will officiate. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 12:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. Saturday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Phelps & Son Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
