  Tammie Jean George, age 55 of Staffordsville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky.

     Born December 15, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Silas Paul George and Trula Jean (Daugherty) George. In addition to her parents, Tammie is preceded in death by one son, Simmy Earl Martin; and one sister, Mary Reed.

    She is survived by one son, Marvin Paul Martin of Paintsville, Kentucky; one brother, Paul (and Amanda) George also of Paintsville; two sisters, Brenda (and Millard) Gillispie of Paintsville and Misty (and Mack) Lowe of Van Lear; brother in law, Tom Reed of Staffordsville; nieces and nephews: Valerie George, Megan Risner, Paul Gillispie, Trula Ratliff, Andy Lowe, and Gauge Gannon; and six grandchildren also survive.

      Per her request, there will be no public visitation or funeral at this time. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

     Elroy Blair, age 82 of West Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Pikeville Medical Center. Born June 6, 1937 in Johnson County, Kentucky he was the son of the late William Rex Blair and Dora Whitaker Blair. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers: Marvin Blair, Morse Blair, and William Blair Jr.; four sisters: Martha Shell, Mary Vanhoose, Margie Robinette, and Ruby Blair.

     He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Pack Blair; two sons: Jeff (Teresa) Blair of Hager Hill, Herbert (Christa) Blair of Huntington, West Virginia; one daughter, Sandra (Doug) Young of West Van Lear; two grandchildren: Casey Young and Corey Young; two step grandchildren: Dakota Kliber and Damion Kliber; four great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Ronald (Barb) Pack of Stambaugh; three sisters-in-law: Jean (Joe) Trimble of Orlando, Florida, Gayle McKenzie of Sunbury, Ohio, and Charlotte Hall of Paintsville.

     Elroy was a longtime member of the Southside Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the East Point Masonic Lodge No.657.

     Funeral services will be held 11:00am Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Southside Freewill Baptist Church of Paintsville. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. Corey Young, Casey Young, and Wayne Price will officiate. Friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 12:00-9:00pm. Masonic Rites to be conducted Saturday evening by the East Point Masonic Lodge No.657. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

     Deborah Comer Watkins, age 63 of Staffordsville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at her residence. Born September 9, 1956 in Welch, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Comer Sr. and Lucy Wilhite Comer. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers: Roger Comer and Elbert Comer Jr..

     She is survived by her husband, Bunnie Eugene Watkins Jr. of Staffordsville, Kentucky; one daughter, Jessica Huff and husband, Brandon of Owingsville, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Amber Huff; three brothers: Bennie Comer of Reedsville, West Virginia, John Comer of Glen Lyn, Virginia, Michael Paul Comer of Bluefield, West Virginia; two sisters: Nancy Jung of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, Jeanie McPeak of Bluefield, West Virginia.

     There will be no public viewing or funeral service per the family's request. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

     Mitchell Allen Goble, age 51 of River, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at his residence.

     Born August 21, 1968 in Paintsville, Kentucky, he was the son of Linda (Conley) Goble of River and the late Virgil Goble, Jr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by wife, Shawna (Meek) Goble; two children, Travis Allen Goble and Xavier (Conner) Goble; three sisters: Sheila Roberts of River, Kimberly Blair also of River and Jennifer (Jeff) Kestner of Meally; close friend, Jerry Williams; aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews also survive.

     Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday November 22, 2019 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Daniels Cemetery at Davis Branch. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Thursday and prior to the service on Friday. Chapter 18 D.A.V. of Auxier will conduct full military honors.      Laura Mollette, age 92 of Boonscamp, Kentucky passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at her residence. Born March 28, 1927 in Boonscamp, she was the daughter of the late John Webb and Nancy Jane (Ward) Webb. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Mollette Jr.; three brothers: John Roe Webb, Herman Webb, and Shade Webb; and two sisters: Edith Bloomer and Carmona Ethel Phelps.

     She is survived by two daughters: Nancy Rosale Mollette of Louisville, Kentucky and Joyce Elain Misura (Charles Deerfield) of Boonscamp, Kentucky; one sister, Margrette Sue Horn of Boonscamp, Kentucky; one grandson, Bryan Patrick Misura of Boonscamp, Kentucky; two great grandsons: Bryson Daniel Misura and Mayson Chance Misura both of Paintsville, Kentucky.

     A memorial service will be held 1:00pm Friday, November 22, 2019 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00am and until time of services at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Appalachian Hospice in Memory of Laura Mollette.      Justin Blake Stafford, age 30 of East Point, Kentucky passed away Wednesday November 6, 2019 in Tennessee. Born July 14, 1989 in Paintsville, Kentucky, he was the son of Jill Stafford of Paintsville, Kentucky.

     He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett and Helen Stafford.

     In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiance, Kierah Slone of East Point; one daughter, Emily Sage Stafford of East Point; one uncle, Mark Stafford of Nicholasville, Kentucky; one cousin, Bill Stafford of Lexington, Kentucky.

     Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Wells Cemetery at Paintsville. Aaron Penix will officiate. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00pm-9:00pm and on Monday from 9:00am-9:00pm.       Ronald “Ronnie” L. Blair, age 72 of Paintsville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Pikeville Medical Center. Born March 15, 1947 in Johnson County, Kentucky to the late Ronald Blair and Naomi Peggy Johnson Blair. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mable Haney Blair; one son, Richard “Bubby” Blair; and one brother, Larry Julius Blair.

     He is survived by one son, Heath Blair of Paintsville, Kentucky; three daughters: Tammy Blair Beverly of Paintsville, Kentucky, Rhonda Blair Gallagher of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Heather Marie Blair of Paintsville, Kentucky; one brother: Vernon F. Blair of Columbus, Ohio; one sister: Charlene Moore of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Tiffany (Donald) Meek, Michael Beverly, Matt (Sarah) Gallagher, Chris (Tori) Gallagher, Chase Gallagher, Tyler Burns, Shelbie Burns; four great grandchildren: Rylen Beverly, Braxton Hensley, Caleb Hensley, and Jurstan Meek. A host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.

     Ronnie was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

     Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, November 9, 2019 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. DAV Chapter 18 of Auxier will conduct Military Honors at the funeral home. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00-9:00pm and on Saturday from 9:00am until time of services at 1:00pm.      Former Johnson County Judge Executive, Roger T. “Tucker” Daniel, age 80 of Staffordsville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 at St. Joseph Health Care Facility in Lexington.

Born August 30, 1939 in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Carl Daniel and Frances I. (Colvin) Short. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lizzie Colvin, who raised him; and one sister, Deanna (Hickman) Falcon.

     Mr. Daniel is survived by his wife, Page (Brickley) Daniel; two sons, Roger D. Daniel, and his wife Margaret of Georgetown, Kentucky and Scott Daniel of Staffordsville, Kentucky; five grandchildren: John Thomas Daniel, Scott Triplett Daniel, Kash Daniel, Julia Page Daniel and Samuel Roger Daniel; one brother, Jimmy Ray Short, and his wife Deb of New Carlisle, Ohio; three sisters: Debbie Kay Wheeler, and her husband Dan of New Carlisle, Joan Cox also of New Carlisle and Beverly Davis, and her husband Ken of Beaver Creek, Ohio. Several nieces, nephews and a host of special friends also survive.

     Mr. Daniel  former Johnson County Judge Executive from 2000-2019 and former President of Kentucky West Virginia Gas Company.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, November 6th in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home after 5:00pm Tuesday and from 9:00am to 2:00pm Wednesday, prior to the service. Seth Carter will officiate.

     Ricky A. Blair, age 69 of Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Salyersville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born January 31, 1950 in Paintsville, Kentucky, he was the son of Lois (Lynn) Blair of Van Lear and the late Henry Blair. In addition to his father, Ricky is preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Blair.

     He is survived by his mother, Lois; four brothers: Tom Blair of Salyersville, Kentucky, Roger Blair of Van Lear, Kentucky, Tony Blair of Oil Springs, Kentucky and Gary Blair of Van Lear, Kentucky; and one sister, Tama Johnson of Wabash, Indiana.

     Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, November 4, 2019 at the Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville. Friends may visit the church after 4:00pm Sunday and until the time of service on Monday. Paul Wayne Browning will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

     William E. (Bill) Carpenter, Jr., age 89 of Paintsville, Kentucky passed away Friday November 1, 2019 at his residence. Born September 29, 1930 in Chicot County Arkansas, he was the son of the late William E. Carpenter and Jessie Yearian Carpenter. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Carpenter; and one son, William Edgar Carpenter II.

    He is survived by his wife, Mary (Price) Carpenter; two sons, Mike (and Melissa) Carpenter and Billy (and Susan) Carpenter; two daughters, Ann (and Ronnie) Grimm and Delores (and Terry) Hayden; grandchildren, Rhedonda and Nate Kelly, Rayven Carpenter and Madison Carpenter; and one great grandchild, Matthew Little also survives.

    Bill was a retired coal truck driver and a veteran of the United States Army.

    Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday November 4, 2019 in the capel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Parl, Staffordsville. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 3:00pm to 9:00pm Sunday and until the time of service on Monday. Chapter 18 D.A.V. of Auxier will conduct Military Services at the funeral Home.
