Alyson Davis, age 35 of Naugatuck, West Virginia passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020. Born December 21, 1984 in Huntington, West Virginia she was the daughter of Linda & Boonie Fletcher of Paintsville, Kentucky and Phillip Butcher of Martin County, Kentucky.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Carlos and Della Blackburn and one brother, Phillip Butcher.
She is survived by two sons, Aiden Fletcher and Cameron Davis; two brothers, Justin (Tasha) Davis, and Michael Butcher. She was a loving daughter and mother and will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew her.
Per the family's request there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Kenneth Stephen Castle, age 50 of West Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Saturday February 22, 2020 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Born March 16, 1969 in Johnson County, he was the son of Jessie (Sturgill) Castle of Paintsville, Kentucky and the late Kenneth Leon Castle. In addition to his mother, Stephen is survived by his sister Becky (and Eric) Bertelsen of Hebron, Kentucky. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, February 27, 2020 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Caudill Cemetery at Lower Twin Branch. Chris Caudill, Harold Montgomery and Dan Montgomery will officiate. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 10:00am to 2:00pm Thursday prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Freddie Glen “Teddy” Conley, age 66 of Oil Springs, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Born January 28, 1954 in Magoffin County, he was the son of Ruby (Blair) Conley of Paintsville and the late James “Buck” Conley. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary (Jones) Conley; one daughter, Jennifer Conley (and James Cook) of Oil Springs; one brother, Stanley (and Teresa) Conley of Swamp Branch; three sisters, Vickie (and Robert) Fairchild of Richmond, KY, Brenda Conley of Paintsville and Susie (and Steve) Martin of Auxier; sister in law, Betty Daniel of Ashland; and several special nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Conley was owner and operator of Conley & Sons Welding.
Funeral services will be 12:00pm Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Oil Springs Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Lakeview Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville. McCoy Taylor will officiate. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Sunday, 9:00am to 9:00pm Monday and after 11:00am Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Merlin Dean “Bones” Osborne, age 44 of Prestonsburg, Kentucky passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at his residence. Born September 9, 1975 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late William Bill Osborne, Jr. and Virginia Webb Osborne. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, David Lee Osborne and one sister, Christina Goble Hamilton.
He is survived by two sons: Bill Isaac Osborne and Ethan Elmo Dean Osborne of Van Lear; four daughters: Andrea Dawn Osborne “Daddy's Little Girl” of Prestonsburg, Karissa Williams and husband Ronnie of Hazard, Savannah Hurl and husband William of Tennessee, and Kerstin Lashay Osborne of Pikeville; three brothers: Billy Joe Osborne and wife Barbara of Auxier, Ervin Osborne and wife Dicie of Auxier, William Douglas Osborne of Prestonsburg; two sisters: Elizabeth Osborne Hamilton of Prestonsburg, and Whitney Osborne Kendrick and husband Jarred of Prestonsburg; four grandchildren: Reanna “Banana” Williams, Meagan “MegMeg” Lougene Williams, Ally “Allycat” Williams, Brooklyn “Sissy” Lashay Adams, and one grandchild on the way. A host of nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, February 22, 2020 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel, Kentucky. Friends may visit at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00-9:00pm and prior to services on Saturday. Timothy Lee Coleman, age 62 of Salyersville, Kentucky formerly of Flat Gap, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville. Born April 22, 1957 in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Denver Howard Coleman and Ruth (Baldridge) Coleman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, James Howard Coleman.
Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Tammy (Blair) Coleman; one son, Evan Lee Coleman of Webster Springs, West Virginia; one sister, Lesha Kaye (and Glen) Ison of Allen, Kentucky; nephew, Matthew Ison also of Allen; sister-in-law, Lana Coleman of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; and several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Penix Family Cemetery at Williamsport, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 9:00pm Thursday, all day Friday with a special service starting at 6:30pm. Elder Matthew Ison and other Old Regular Baptist Ministers will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses. Buddy Ray Osborne, age 56 of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. Born April 7, 1963 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Buddy Osborne and Anna Kay Spradlin Osborne. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Lorean Fyffe Cantrell Osborne.
He is survived by five brothers: John Osborne of West Van Lear, James Robinette of Salyersville, William Martin Webb of Thealka, Reece Allen Webb of Paintsville, and Hershel Eugene Webb of Thealka; four sisters: Tammy Burchett of Stambaugh, Ethel Estepp of Vinton, Ohio, Darlene Mollette of Auxier, and Anna Hunt of Prestonsburg.
Per the request of Mr. Osborne there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Anna Ruth (Sturgill) Witten “Ruth”, age 84 of Paintsville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at the Martin County Health Care Facility in Inez after an extended illness. She was born on July 4, 1935, and was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother, and at times, caretaker of other children. Ruth was a loyal member of Barnett's Creek United Baptist Church until her illness prevented her from attending.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Arzie and Della (Jenkins) Sturgill; two brothers, Earl and Eugene Sturgill; and one son-in-law, John Castle.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Kathy Witten Castle of Sitka, Kentucky, and Tina Witten Gilley of Tampa, Florida; former husband, Hobert Witten of Sitka, one step-son, Hobie (Teresa) Witten of Sitka; four grandsons, Scott Castle and Eric Castle of Sitka, Nicholas Gilley of Tampa, and Tyler Witten of Sitka; one great-granddaughter, Danielle Castle of Sitka; two sisters-in-law, Cleatha Hall Sturgill of Stambaugh and Alberta Stambaugh Sturgill of Paintsville; four nieces and two nephews; a special cousin, Rose Marie (Sturgill) David; and a host of other family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends are welcome to join together at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 9:00pm Tuesday and after 12:00pm Wednesday at the Barnett's Creek United Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the Barnett's Creek United Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville. Kenny Pelphrey and Jason Auxier will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
