   Brooke Nichole Maynard, age 26 of East Point, Kentucky passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at her home.

     Born March 17, 1996 in Floyd County, she was the daughter of Melinda Jarvis Conley and step father, Alonzo Conley of Hager Hill, Kentucky and the late William Maynard. In addition to her father, Brooke is preceded in death by grandparents, Judy Maynard, Vina Music and Floyd Pauley.

     She is survived by her mother and step father; fur babies, Koda Bear, Comet, Shiloh, Nova and Peaches; maternal grandparents, Allen and Deborah Jarvis of Ulysses, Kentucky; paternal grandfather, Robert Maynard; and Alonzo and Shirley Conley; brothers, Wesley Daniel Shepherd, Alonzo Conley III and Seth Patrick; sisters, Kaitlyn Marie Conley and Layla Conley. Also surviving is Veronica Wellman and Mickia Blanton and children, Natasha and Charlie Beatty, Eva and Brian Castle and Crystal Conley and family. Many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and loved ones also survive.

     A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 10:00am until 2:00pm Tuesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that Memorial Contributions be made, In Memory of Brooke, to the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, (606)789-8989.

     Shellinda Gay Conn Mullins, age 54 of Leander, Kentucky passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at her home.

     Born August 2, 1967 in Michigan, she was the daughter of Sylvia Castle Burton and Walter Burton. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Christopher Mullins; step sons, Daniel Mullins, Brad Mullins and Tanner Mullins all of Red Bush, Kentucky; daughter, Jillian (Sean) Howard of Thelma, Kentucky; three brothers, Adam (Tracy) Baer of Hager Hill, Kentucky, Shannon Conn of Thelma, Kentucky and Jamie Burton of West Virginia; two sisters, Sherry Conn (Billy Stapleton) of Sitka, Kentucky and Lisa (Billy) Kremplin of Ezel, Kentucky; and one grandchild, Sarah Mullins.

     Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday, April 28, 2022 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Williams – Reed Cemetery at Red Bush, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Tuesday and 5:00pm to 9:00pm Wednesday.      Bobby Dean Branham, age 74 of Prestonsburg, Kentucky passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Prestonsburg ARH.

     Born June 24, 1947 in Martin, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Alvin Bruce Branham and Theda Dale Hall Branham. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by one son, Mark Branham; three brothers, Alvin Junior Brnaham, Basil Branham, Danny Branham and Donnie Branham; and three sisters, Barbara Sue Slone, Mary Margaret Hollerby and Sylvia Jean Branham.

     He is survived by his wife, Glenda McKinney Branham; two sons, Bobby Edward Branham of Lexington, Kentucky and Jimmy Dewayne Branham of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; two daughters, Peityn Branham and Jessica Spradlin both of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; four sisters, Deloris Webb of Auxier, Kentucky, Sharon Elliott of Martin , Kentucky, Pam Hall Branham of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Vida Carol Branham of Ohio. Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

     Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church at McDowell, Kentucky. Friends may visit the church from 11:00am to 3:00pm Sunday prior to the service.

     Esta Faye Kelley, age 88 of Paintsville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Mountain Manor of Paintsville. Born June 16, 1933 in Lawrence County, Kentucky to the late Isaac Skaggs and Louisa Ferguson Skaggs. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Conard Wallin; second husband, Victor Kelley; five brothers: Foster Skaggs, Ford Skaggs, Furl Skaggs, Luther Skaggs, and Herman Skaggs; one sister, Ivory Wallin; one son-in-law, Jessie Cavins.

     She is survived by three daughters: Jenetta Curnutte and husband, Charles of Louisa, Kentucky, Pat Sparks and husband, Rick of Sitka, Kentucky, Connie Cavins of Paintsville, Kentucky; five grandchildren: Steven Curnutte, Jeffery Curnutte, Jennifer Yeager, Nick Sparks, and Brandy Ballard; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. A host of family members and friends also survive.

     Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, April 23, 2022 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Skaggstown Cemetery at Flat Gap, Kentucky. James Wallin and Keith Sturgill will officiate. Friends may visit at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00-9:00pm and on Saturday after 9:00am until time of services at 1:00pm.      Edna Music, age 62 of Staffordsville, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Born April 27, 1959 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Ancil Miller of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and the late Wanda Spencer Miller. In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by one brother, Ancil Ray Miller.

     In addition to her father, Edna is survived by her husband, Raymond Music of Staffordsville, Kentucky; two daughters: Elizabeth Skaggs and husband, Andrew of Wittensville, Kentucky and Andrea Ferguson and husband, Tyler of Flat Gap, Kentucky; two brothers: James Courtney Miller of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Sean Miller of Flat Gap, Kentucky; two sisters: Wilma Stewart and husband, Dan of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Kaye Allen and husband, Phillip of London, Kentucky; two grandchildren: Aaron Skaggs and Ethan Skaggs. A host of family members and friends also survive.

     Edna was a faithful member of the Paintsville Calvary Church of God.

     Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the Paintsville Calvary Church of God with burial to follow in the Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville, Kentucky. Matt Craft and Ryan Skaggs will officiate. Friends may visit at the church on Wednesday from 1:00-9:00pm and on Thursday after 9:00am until time of services at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Paintsville Calvary Church of God “Building Fund”, PO Box 366, Paintsville, KY 41240.        Peggy Jean Blair, age 83 of Staffordsville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Riverview Nursing home in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.

      Peggy was born November 7, 1938 in Johnson County to the late Pharmer and Martha Sparadlin Ratliff. She was preceded in death by one son, Roger Blair; two grandchildren, Austin Tanner Mollette and Kevin Scott Johnson II.

      Peggy is survived by two daughters, Dianna (John) Herald of Staffordsville, Ky, and Trena (Paul) Cantrell of Flat Gap, Ky; two sons, Tim Blair of Knoxville, Tn, and William Blair of Staffordsville, Ky; two brothers, Donald Ratliff, and William Ratliff; five grandchildren, Ashley Spradalin, Zachary Blanton, Chloe Blair, Jacob Mollette and Brandy Tackett; eight great-grandchildren; Zelah Natarte, Paizlei Blanton, Kekoa Natarte, korbyn Blanton, Koltyn Blanton, Emmalin Blanton, Cheyenne Guinn, Christina Guinn; four great great grandchildren, Miaya kestner, Hayden Mayes, Kyler Mayes, and Kaiden Hubbard; and a host of nieces and nephews.     

     Per her request, there will be no public visitation or funeral at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

     Larry Thompson, age 78 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at his residence.

     Born December 13, 1943 in Hart County Kentucky, he was the son of the late Wayne Thompson and Ailene Carter Thompson.

     Larry is survived by his wife, Karen Lowe Thompson of Pikeville, Kentucky; the love of his life and pet, Cookie, two sons, Kevin (Nola) Thompson of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Charles (Martha) Thompson of Lexington, Kentucky; one daughter, Lisa Thompson of Richmond, Kentucky; six sisters, Marlene Thompson and Barbara Hodges both of Nashville, Tennessee, Molinda Skaggs of Atlanta, Georgia, Vicki Ziegler of Huntsville, Alabama, and Sheila Byrd and Jolene Young both of Glasgow, Kentucky. Also four grandchildren, Derek, Aleah, Pat and Victor.

     Larry was the owner of Larry Thompson Trucking and Coal River Trucking, hauling to 15 different states, employing 150-175 trucks per day. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army.

     Funeral services will be held 10:00am Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Betsy Layne Free Will Baptist Church (57 Church Street, Betsy Layne, Kentucky 41605). Graveside services will be held 3:00pm (Central Time) Saturday at the Thompson Family Cemetery in Hardyville, Kentucky. Military Honors will be conducted at the cemetery. Barry Clark will officiate.  Friends may visit the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church on Friday from 6:00-9:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that Memorial Contributions be made to the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church (57 Church Street, Betsy Layne, Kentucky 41605).     James Powell “Softy” Lemaster, age 63 of Leander, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in Keaton, Kentucky. Born December 25, 1958, he was the son of the late Charles “Ike” Lemaster and Mary Grover “Tiny” Lemaster. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Shawn Bradley Lemaster and Charles Lemaster, Jr; one sister, Kimberly Ratliff; and one grandchild, Ethan Lemaster. He is survived by two sons, John Lemaster of Florence, Kentucky and Joel Lemaster of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Bridgett Lemaster of Keaton, Kentucky, Jasmine Lemaster of Salyersville, Kentucky and Mary Ann Lemaster of Inez, Kentucky; three brothers, David Lee Lemaster and Ricky Joe Lemaster both of Leander, Kentucky and Randall Ray Lemaster of West Virginia; three sisters, Teresa Lynn Thompson of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Connie Sue Lemaster of Paintsville, Kentucky and Tracy Darnell Baer of Leander, Kentucky. Eight grandchildren also survive, Peyton Lemaster, Kiley Lemaster, Dragan Lemaster, Trenton Davis Adams, Skylynn Adams, Kierra Adams, Mason Lemaster and Ava Thatcher.

     Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Friday, April 8, 2022 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. Burial will folllow in the Hannah & Lemaster Cemetery, Leander. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Thursday, and 9:00am until the time of service on Friday. In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions can be made to the Phelps & Son Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.      Brenda Sue “Sissy Wissy” Holbrook, age 71 of Auxier, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at her residence. Born March 28, 1951 in Auxier, Kentucky to the late Estill Taylor and Celia Burchwell Taylor. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Holbrook; one daughter, Kathy Jo Holbrook; three brothers: Walter Hobert Taylor, Estill Eugene Taylor, Oscar Paul Dean Taylor; two sisters: Patricia Ann Taylor, Anita Taylor; one brother-in-law, Kenny Howell; one sister-in-law, Sandy Taylor.

    Brenda is survived by one son, Austin Holbrook of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; two daughters: Tammy Holbrook of Wayland, Kentucky and Lisa Holbrook of Somerset, Kentucky; two brothers: Larry Taylor of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Daryl Taylor of Wabash, Indiana; two sisters: Judy Howell of Louisville, Kentucky and Kathy Holbrook of Auxier, Kentucky. Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

     Funeral services will be held 10:00am Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Free Pentecostal Church of God at East Point. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery at the Auxier Relocation. Josh Hayton will officiate. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 1:00-9:00pm and on Friday from 9:00am until time of services at 10:00am. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

     Wanda Sue Fannin Clark, age 79 of Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Mountain Manor of Paintsville.

     Born April 29, 1942 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Hayes Fannin and Besie Wilcox Fannin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded ind eath by one daughter, Melanie Dawn Clark; and one sister, Arlene Sublett. Wanda is survived by one son, Bryan (Ruby) Clark of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; one daughter, Sherry (Lindsey) Greene of Wurtland, Kentucky; four brothers, Norman Fannin, Raymond Fannin and Delmadge Fannin all of Van Lear, Kentucky and Vincel Fannin of Martha, Kentucky; three sisters, Gertrude Wilkins and Marie Wells both of Van Lear, Kentucky and Rhonda Slone of Paintsville, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Harleigh Clark, Grace Collins Witten, Earnest Collins and Beck Collins; and three great grandchildren, Bryar Witten, Ellie Collins and Ella Collins.

     A  Celebration of Life will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the Hager Hill Freewill Baptist Church. Ronnie Spriggs will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fannin Family Cemetery at Van Lear.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
