     Kathy May McCoy, age 57 of Inez, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at Three Rivers in Louisa. Born September 22, 1955 in Jackson, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Dorothy Mae Arnett Jackson of Marion, Ohio and the late William Marshall. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Dori Casteel and Penny Wolford; one brother, Billy Joe Marshall; and three ½ brothers, Adam, Simon, and Johnny Marshall. She is survived by her mother, nine children, Jeremy Gilbert and Donna Evans of Tomahawk, Tim and Bambi Gilbert of Butler, Ohio, Herb and Linda Gilbert of Belfry, KY, Josh and Michelle McCoy of Pilgrim, KY, Tasha, Jason, Katrina, Dan, and Aaron Pescosolido all of Ohio; her fiancé, Joseph Charles; grandchildren, TJ, Katlyne, and Trey Gilbert, Ashton, McCoy, Gabriel, Morgan, and Julie Gilbert, Trey, Christian, and Elizabeth Thurkill, Madison, Gage, and Taylor Pescosolido, Landen and Bella Pescosolido, and Conner Stombaugh; three siblings, William Marshall and Phyllis McCoy of Marion, Ohio and Paul Marshall of Salyersville; and several nieces and nephews.

 

     Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Sidney Old Regular Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Arnett Family Cemetery at Salyersville. Dewey Jude and Ben Scott will officiate. Friends may visit the church after 4pm Tuesday and all day Wednesday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.

     Bethel Litteral Howes,age 90 of Riceville, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at Highland Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg. Born February 4, 1923 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Warren Harrison Litteral and Cora Davis Litteral. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Howes; one daughter, Patricia Ann Adkins; and her oldest grandchild, Robert Lowell Adkins. She is survived by one son, Lowell E. Puckett and his wife, Janette of Haymarket, VA; one daughter, Sandra Kay Brown and her husband, Donald of Riceville, Kentucky; one sister, Faye Hackworth of Cannonsburg, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

 

     Bethel professed her faith in Jesus as her Savior in 2006. This has provided hope and comfort throughout an extended illness. Following the death of her husband in 1975, Bethel began to work at American Standard where she made many friends. After retirement, Bethel remained physically active working in her yard, flowers, and garden. In the winter as long as her eyesight allowed, she quilted and shared those with family and friends.

 

     Bethel was blessed to live in her own home, in the neighborhood she loved. She had an inpact on the lives of those she touched and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.

 

     Funeral services will be 11AM Monday, May 20, 2013 at the New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Family Cemetery at Salyersville. Joe Scott and Larry Blair will officiate. Pallbearers will be Anthony Adkins, Adam Adkins, Jeff Brown, Lowell Puckett, Jr, Dr. Phillip Crace, and Wes Barton. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 3-9pm Sunday and after 10am Monday at the church. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.

     Kenny Ray Stacy, age 50 of Inez, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Highland Regional in Prestonsburg. Born August 22, 1962 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Gladys Jude Stacy of Inez and the late Carmel Stacy. In addition to to his father, he is preceded in death by brother in law, Larry Dalton; and mother & father in law, Herman and Betty Horn. He is survived by his mother, Gladys; his wife, Roseanna Horn Stacy; three sons, Kenny Michael Stacy of Inez, Cody Michael Tash of Inez and Tyler Chase Stacy of Inez; three daughters, April Stacy, Courtney Stacy and Anna Stacy all of Inez; five brothers, Haskell (Joyce) Stacy, Andy (Sharon) Stacy, Jasper (Nona) Stacy, Elmer (Donna) Stacy and Harrison (Barbara) Stacy all of Inez; and five sisters, Linda (Butler) Jude of Pilgrim, Judy Blackburn of Paintsville, Diana Kay (Gordon) Fletcher of Tomahawk, Brenda Dalton of Inez and Tammy (Joe) Fannin of Milo.  He was a former Road Department employee.  

     Funeral services will be 11am Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Sidney Old Regular Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Stacy Family Cemetery at Inez. Luther Fletcher will officiate. Friends may visit the church after 5PM Wednesday and all day Thursday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.

     Veronica Hill Hayslett, age 46 of Lexington, formerly of Paintsville, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born November 23, 1966 in Wabash, Indiana, she was the daughter of Ethel Cooper Hill of Hager Hill and the late Astor Lee Hill, Sr. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, James David Hayslett; and one brother, Astor Lee Hill, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Ethel Hill of Hager Hill; one son, David Blake Hayslett of Lexington; two daughters, Chelsey Hayslett (Robert William) Wallace and Julia Marte` Hayslett both of Lexington; one brother, Gary Hill of Hager Hill; one sister, Debbie (Ronnie) Duty of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; and two grandchildren, James Mason Hayslett and Olyvia Lynn Wallace.

 

     Veronica was a Registered Nurse at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

 

     Funeral services will be 1:00PM Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. Michael Tackett will officiate. Friends may visit the funeral home from 5-10pm Sunday and from 9am to 10pm Monday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.
